Bourg-Les-Valence mayor to appeal court’s decision to annul friendship declaration signed with Artsakh's Shoushi

Bourg-Les-Valence mayor Marlène Mourier stated about appealing the decision of court to annul the friendship declaration signed in October 2014 with mayor of Artsakh's Shoushi Artsvik Sargsyan.

“I appeal the interpretation of the administrative court which has considered this declaration illegal. I am convinced that it corresponds to legislative norms and state about my decision to appeal it,” Marlène Mourier wrote on Facebook, Armenpress reports.

She said her appeal is based on the commitment of French President Emmanuel Macron who stated at the dinner with the Council Coordinating French-Armenian Organizations on February 5, 2019 that programs relating to educational and humanitarian sectors will not be pursued.

“I have visited Shoushi many times and I have understood what hope the manifestations of humanity and friendship awake in the hearts of a population which hostile Azerbaijan tries to quell,” the mayor wrote.
