Karabakh’s participation issue discussed at all meetings: Pashinyan on Artsakh’s involvement in peacetalks
No meeting between Armenia and Azerbaijan passes without discussion of Artsakh’s participation issue in the peace talks, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the NA today, in response to the question of Prosperous Armenia faction lawmaker Arman Abovyan.
“During the talks all the issues that impede the future of the negotiations will be raised. There is no meeting during which the issue of Nagorno Karabakh’s participation in the negotiations is not discussed,” Pashinyan said, reminding that currently Armenia’s FM is in the United States where he will meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart.
As to the comment that the Azerbaijani side have probably failed to accept the new perception of negotiations proposed by the Armenian side and may have perceived it as Armenia’s weakness, Pashinyan said, “Azerbaijan’s interpretation is its own interpretation. The Republic of Armenia and Artsakh Republic are able to defend their interests both in diplomatic circles and in case of necessity on the frontline. We have proved it and continue proving it,” he said.
