Ex-FM Vartan Oskanian served as mediator between Silva Hambardzumyan and Robert Kocharyan for acquisition of mines and transfer of 3 million USD bribe: prosecutor

The court examination of Robert Kocharyan, Yuri Khachaturov, Seyran Ohanyan and Armen Gevorgyan’s case continues with the prosecutors presenting the appeals against the decision of the court of general jurisdiction to quit the proceedings and send it to the Constitutional Court and release of Kocharyan from custody.

The prosecutor also referred to the accusation against Kocharyan about taking big amount of bribe. Petrosyan said that the fundamental suspicion in this regard is based on facts.

“The court had enough facts, proofs in this regard based on the testimonies of interrogated citizens Silva Hambardzumyan, Levon Altunyan and Anahit Israelyan,” he said, numerating other collected evidences as well.

Presenting some facts, Petrosyan said that for getting sponsorship businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan with the mediation of Vartan Oskanyan (ex foreign minister) applied to Robert Kocharyan and received his consent for acquiring mines and transferred 3 million USD to Robert Kocharyan till May 2008 via businessman, owner of H2 TV channel Samvel Mayrapetyan.

“This information is in the testimony of Silva Hambardzumyan and is considered an evidence in the case and it may be claimed that they are approved also by Vartan Oskanyan who did not reject the information in his testimonies,” the prosecutor said, adding that there are other financial documents and protocols proving the accusation.
