Prosecutor General describes claims about Czech justice minister’s decision not to extradite Narek Sargsyan as gossips
Claims as if justice minister of Czech Republic has not given consent to the extradition of Serzh Sargsyan’s nephew Narek Sargsyan are gossips, Armenia’s Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan told the reporters today.
“I assess these claims as gossips as we have not yet officially received decision on either rejecting or upholding our request,” Davtyan said.
Yesterday Narek Sargsyan’s brother Hayk Sargsyan after the court hearing over his case stated that Czech minister of justice has not given consent for extradition of his brother.
Earlier Prosecutor General’s office stated that Prague municipal court upheld on May 29 the motion to hand Narek Sargsyan to Armenian law enforcement bodies.
According to Czech legislation, the final decision over extradition is to be made by the country’s justice minister.
