OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs share their ideas over progress in Karabakh conflict peace talks
Armenian foreign minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on June 20 in Washington D.C. under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
Armenian MFA press service reports that during the meeting the Armenian side expressed gratitude to the U.S. co-chairmanship for hosting the consultations which are continuation of the ones held earlier in Paris and Moscow.
The participants of the meetings exchanged thoughts over the main issues of the peace process and the current situation.
They also discussed the tension registered recently on the line of contact and steps necessary for the restoration of peace promoting atmosphere.
The Armenian side stressed the necessity to undertake measures for reinforcement of ceasefire and reduction of escalation risks for preventing incidents and operative response.
Armenia’s principal positions and approaches in the negotiation process have also been reiterated.
The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs shared with foreign ministers their ideas over the progress in the peace talks, including steps to be undertaken in the humanitarian sphere.
Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers agreed to continue talks in near future under the auspices of the Minsk Group co-chairs.
