My father was March 1 political prisoner: My Step lawmaker

Lawmaker from My Step faction Anna Karapetyan does not share second president Robert Kocharyan’s opinion that there is no law and legality in Armenia.

“There is no political persecution. There were doubts over suspension of the case and addressing it to the Constitutional Court,” the lawmaker told the reporters today.

She stressed that she will refrain from commenting the judicial act voiced yesterday as she is not aware of the groundings.

“The process will take place in the limits of legality and in accordance with the law,” she said, adding that the revelation of March 1 case is public demand.

As to not raising the issue while being an expert in the NA State-Legal Affairs Standing Committee during the ruling of previous authorities, Karapetyan said previously she carried out specialized activity in the committee and was not involved in politics.

“I have grown up in a political family, and I was involved in political processes. My father was political prisoner after March 1 developments, let me not continue anymore,” she said.
