No issue of replacing CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan may be put theoretically: NA speaker
No issue of replacing Constitutional Court chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan may be put theoratically, Armenian parliament speaker Ararat Mirzoyan said, responding to a reporter's comment about the issue of replacing of CC chairperson.
The NA speaker says such issue cannot be put as neither the NA, nor the Prime Minister have such an authority.
As to the comment about dictating an agenda, and claiming the post of CC chairperson by Vahe Grigoryan, the parliament speaker said he does not agree with the formulations.
“I think there is a crisis irrespective of the statement or letter,” he said.
Mirzoyan said that all must contribute to the solution of the situation in the Constitutional Court and first of all Hrayr Tovmasyan himself.
“His contribution to the solution of the crisis may be invaluable. I have a big hope and expectation that Mr Tovmasyan will say his weighty word which will result in the solution of the crisis,” he said.
The speaker stressed that if Hrayr Tovmasyan states about leaving the structure the crisis will not be solved as the crisis is not agreed with Tovmasyan’s personality.
“I am speaking about the trust toward this structure, about the people involved in it for years who are much more than one person. And this one person is not Hrayr Tovmasyan for sure,” Mirzoyan stressed.
