Adversary shots at Armenia’s Yelpin community, damages roof of one of houses

During the recent days the adversary is displaying activeness in the direction of Nakhijevan, Tonight it opened fire in the direction of Yelpin community of the Armenian province of Vayots Dzor.

Speaking to Aysor.am, head of the community Khoren Avetisyan said that for already few days the adversary is shooting in the direction of the community.

“This night as well they shot at the village, damaging the roof of the house of one of the villagers,” he said.

The head of the community noted that on July 11 the adversary opened fire resulting in fire bursting in one of wheat fields.

“The intensive shooting has been registered in July 13 when again a field burst on fire and was extinguished with the efforts of young villagers,” he said.

Avetisyan said that as of now the situation in the village is calm, no shooting is registered.

The adversary opened fire in the direction of bordering Khachik village as well.

Speaking to Aysor.am, the head of the community Hovik Smbatyan said that as a result fire burst on the border of the village.

“We were extinguishing fire till 2 a.m. and managed to do it with the help of the villagers and firefighters,” he said, adding that the fire did not cause noticeable damage.
