My rights are being violated: Armenia’s ex-president
The Criminal Court of Appeal finished today the examination of the appeal relating to the arrest of the property and bank accounts of Armenia’s ex-president Robert Kocharyan.
Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan left for the consultation room.
The decision will be published at 4.30 p.m. today.
Yerevan court of general jurisdiction with judge Anna Danibekyan decided that Kocharyan’s rights have been violated.
Prosecutor Petros Petrosyan appealed court’s decision claiming that the arrest on Kocharyan’s property is legally based.
Speaking at the court Robert Kocharyan stated that his rights are being violated.
“I think prosecutors, besides accusing must follow the legality of the processes and defend human rights,” Kocharyan stated.
“Why do you act in a way for me having the opportunity to cover my expenses be forced to get support from my relatives, it does not bring honor to me. This is what I have told prosecutors and again no response. I suppose it is a practice to deprive a person of everything to make him miserable,” Kocharyan stated.
As to the seized weapon, the ex-president said that they have no relation to March 1 case.
