Criminal persecution against judge Davit Grigoryan illegal
The office of the judge of Yerevan court of general jurisdiction Davit Grigoryan is currently stamped with the judge not being able to enter the office, judge’s lawyer Georgy Melikyan told the reporters today.
Davit Grigoryan was judge in the case of ex-president Robert Kocharyan and other officials. With his decision Kocharyan was relieved from custody and the case’s proceeding was suspended and sent to Constitutional Court.
The lawyer said that they have demanded court’s decision on the basis of which Grigoryan’s office has been stamped and he is not allowed to enter his office. Melikyan claimed there is no such decision.
“The investigator just demanded the judge to leave the site as he was not to participate in the investigative activities,” the lawyer said, adding that they have objected the decision after which the judge was allowed to participate in search but his lawyer not.
Melikyan said the investigator was allowed to conduct search in two offices – in the office of the judge and his assistant.
