To build democratic state it is necessary to be law-abiding: Davit Babayan
Head of Artsakh president’s information department Davit Babayan, speaking to Aysor.am, referred to the comments voiced recently about developments in Artsakh and the statement of former deputy defense minister Gagik Melkonyan.
Speaking about possible scenarios of rallies and protest actions in Artsakh to be initiated by the supporters of Samvel Babayan for making constitutional changes, Babayan said that all the processes which pass in the sidelines of law cannot create any issues with the rallies as well being regulated by the law.
“I do not see anything negative in anything allowed by law,” Babayan stressed.
“There should be no people in Artsakh who are not allowed to do anything and, the opposite, who are allowed to do everything. If we approach any issue in this way, I think it will mean manifestation of features of democratic and firm state,” he said.
As to whether the statement of the former deputy minister of defense Gagik Melkonyan, who in his recent interview stated that for conduction of fair elections in Artsakh Bako Sahakyan must resign and noted that they do not want confrontation and bloodshed in Artsakh, is an ultimatum or a threat addressed to Artsakh authorities, Babayan said, “Different people have different opinions. It is personal opinion of that person, I have noted that everything must take place in the sidelines of law. Artsakh people are law-abiding with their essence. Consequently, both the state and different political forces must do everything to ensure rule of law.”
“Everyone must keep the rule of law. If we want to build a normal democratic state one of the important receipt of it must be being law-abiding. Consequently, we must all move with that logic,” he said.
