Efforts to isolate me at any cost by absolutely made-up charges raise many questions: Kocharyan
If charges against me are just a vendetta the prime minister’s psychological picture must worry the people, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said in an interview with Golos Armenii paper, asked whether the vendetta against him is of geo-political nature or an attempt to clean the accounts of past and put the responsibility of March 1, 2008 developments on him.
“The efforts to isolate me at any cost by these made-up accusations raise many questions, if it is a vendetta the psychological picture of the prime minister must worry the people,” Kocharyan said.
As to the comment that according to a group of political analysts his arrest is connected with the weakening of Russia’s influence in Armenia, Kocharyan said, “The acceptable and understandable corridor of complementarity in foreign policy has rather narrowed for Armenia. It greatly complicates the life of the authorities who changed their geo-political orientations in one night. It is clear that they continue thinking in a way they used to but they are showing quite another thing which not always succeeds. This results in political hypocrisy, blurred geo-political guidelines, permanent failures and as a result incomplete relations with partners. It is impossible to succeed in a thing you do not believe in or you are not convinced in.”
