U.S. Foreign Assistance to Armenia in 2020 to make $6,75 million
The U.S. Foreign Assistance to Armenia in 2020 will make just 6,75 million USD, political analyst Suren Sargsyan wrote on Facebook.
“This is the sum envisaged for Armenia via Foreign Assistance. To note for comparison, in 2019 this sum was $6,4 million, in 2018 $6,80 million, in 2017 $26,41 million, in 2016 $23,10 million,” he wrote.
The $100,000 of the sum envisaged for 2020 will be provided for educational sector, $800,000 will be allocated for the development of economy, $3,100,000 will be addressed to the democracy and human rights sector, $1,500,000 for security and peace, the rest for other sectors.
Sargsyan wrote that the biggest sum received by Foreign Assistance was in 2011 when Armenia was allocated $45,2 million.
“This assistance is envisaged by U.S. foreign assistance budget. Of course additional assistance packages are not excluded, but there is no progress yet,” he stressed.
