Criminal persecution against judge gift to Kocharyan by authorities: Edmon Marukyan

Head of Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan describes the criminal persecution of judge Davir Grigoryan as a gift to personally Kocharyan.

“It is a support and a big gift to Robert Kocharyan by the authorities. With this they give him an opportunity to win at the European court,” Marukyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.

He stressed that the steps of the authorities and law enforcers in particular are not clear for him.

“It is necessary to understand whether these are targeted steps to keep Kocharyan politically alive, or it is dilettantism, a result of not understanding,” he said.

As to whether there are grounds to file criminal case against him, Marukyan said, “If there are grounds, then this case was to be filed yet in February, why it was done and them rejected by the prosecutor.”

Referring to Kocharyan’s statement that in fall the opposition will say its word and the issue of the authorities will be solved in the street, Marukyan urged to treat such statements with smile.

“I will tell you that it is very favorable for authorities to have Kocharyan as their alternative. Of their alternative is Kocharyan, it is clear that Kocharyan will not be supported by anyone thus they will get the support of the people. But of course it will be a shame for them if Kocharyan is their alternative,” Marukyan said.
