Number of drafted conscripts during summer exceeds predicted number by 15%: DM spokesperson
Spokesperson for Armenia’s Defense Ministry summed up in a Facebook post the results of 2019 summer military draft.
The spokesperson reported that during the 2019 summer draft the number of drafted conscripts was 15% more than predicted. He said this growth is agreed with the return of the citizens to the homeland, volunteering.
Hovhannisyan said that over 120 of the total drafted conscripts have been taken to technology regiments after special examination and some to other special divisions. Eighty-nine citizens have been drafted via “It’s me” program.
“About 290 citizens have signed civil-legal contracts with Defense Ministry in the sidelines of “I have honor” program. For significant achievements in education and science deferral of compulsory military service has been given to 196 citizens,” Hovhannisyan wrote.
