Situation on border calm, number of shooting drastically reduced: head of Armed Forces’ Chief of Staff
No tension has been registered on the border as of now, head of the Chief Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan told the reporters today.
“As of now, the situation on the border is calm. Moreover, during the past two days the number of ceasefire violations has sharply reduced. In some places even no shooting has been registered,” Davtyan said.
Referring to the recent worrying situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border which resulted in murder of Armenian serviceman and wounding of another by the Azerbaijani snipers, Davtyan said that it was not connected with the activities of the Armenian Armed Forces.
“It is viewed as provocation by the Azerbaijani side. Our Armed Forces were undertaking corresponding measures in response to their provocations,” Davtyan said.
