Officials responsible to ensure normal pace of case examination fail to do it: Kocharyan’s defense team

Today the state does not give Robert Kocharyan an acting judicial system for defense with nothing technically happening, defense team member of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan Aram Orbelyan told the reporters today.

The judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal Armen Danielyan decided to terminate the decision of the general instance court and arrested Kocharyan. This supposed the continuation of the criminal case in the general jurisdiction court but no process has been launched and it is not clear which judge will examine it as the authorities of judge Davit Grigoryan have been suspended.

Orbelyan said that the criminal case of Kocharyan and the others are not of general instance court’s proceeding and it is not clear who the judge will be after Grigoryan. Orbelyan claimed that the state is responsible for the created situation.

“Yerevan court of general instance does not give launch to the criminal case. The officials who are to ensure the normal pace of the examination have failed the implementation of their authorities which resulted in grave consequences,” other lawyer Hovhannes Khudoyan stressed.
