Armenia has significant achievements as a result of engineering works on border: deputy DM

During the past two weeks the ceasefire violations by the adversary have intensified, deputy defense minister Gabriel Balayan told the reporters in Metsamor today.

“It is the result of implementation of engineering works by the two parties. Defense Ministry’s policy is not to give the adversary an opportunity any positional promotion. I can also say that we have significant achievements as a result of the engineering works,” he said, adding that Armenia’s engineer troops solve the issues put before them quite successfully.

He said recently with its intensiveness the rival tried to restrict the achievements of the Armenian side.

The deputy minister also said that yesterday he was in Vayots Dzor’s Khachik and Areni communities’ army corps where the situation was “quite calm.”

“There was some shooting in battle posts of Zangakatun but in general I can say that the Armenian armed forces fully control the situation and it is quite calm in this phase,” the deputy minister said.
