No intention to keep Kocharyan behind bar for long intentionally: Judicial department head
Robert Kocharyan and other’s case is not in the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction, head of Judicial department Karen Poladyan told the reporters today.
Poladyan added that the cases which are to be examined by judge Davit Grigoryan are sent to another judge. Kocharyan’s case though has not reached the general jurisdiction court and is in the Court of Cassation due to appeal filed against Court of Appeal ruling.
“As I know the chairman of the Yerevan general instance court has sent a writ to the Court of Cassation asking to prepare an appendix from the case or send it to the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction for it to pass to a working judge and concerns about the case fade away,” Poladyan stressed, adding that until Court of Cassation does not make a decision over the appeal the case will not be sent to the general jurisdiction court.
“If not today, on Monday or Tuesday the case or its appendix will be sent to Yerevan court and corresponding procedure will be implemented,” he said.
In general, Poladyan described the accusations voiced by Kocharyan’s defense team in the address of the court as “ones stemming from some interests.”
“I do not see any delays, intention to keep Kocharyan behind bars for long,” he stressed.
