Government’s decision on Amulsar should be based on PM’s statement voiced last year: Rubinyan
Chairman of the NA’s foreign relations standing committee Ruben Rubinyan referred to Amulsar issue in a Facebook post.
He cited the PM’s last year’s statement about the matter which said that international expert conclusion is necessary to understand whether the exploitation of the mine is safe for waters of Sevan and Jermuk.
“If it appears that it is safe for Sevan and Jermuk waters and water reservoir we will allow the mine to be exploited, if not we will choose another way,” the PM stated.
Rubinyan wrote that it is a concrete and clear position and promise.
“The expert conclusion has already been received and it says that the risks are controllable. I think the further decisions of the government must stem from the position voiced by PM in September 2018,” he wrote, noting that the issue must be settled on the basis of logic, facts, assessment of losses and achievements, implementation of political promises and not emotions.
