Case with involvement of ex-chairman of SRC relates to embezzlements reaching tens of millions of dollars: Artur Vanetsyan
National Security Service chief Artur Vanetsyan refused to unveil any details regarding the search in the territories belonging to ex-chairman of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan.
He said he cannot reveal anything as it is secret of preliminary investigation.
Asked why just now a decision has been made to deal with Khachatryan, Vanetsyan said the NSS is not arresting anyone by order.
“A huge work has been carried out and the acquired proofs served a basis for starting corresponding actions,” he said, at the same time informing that before the search the former official has several times been summoned for interrogation.
Artur Vanetsyan said Khachatryan’s case relates to tens of millions USD embezzlements.
The NSS chief also said that Karen Khachatryan, having relation to Gagik Khachatryan and who also worked in the SRC will also be brought to the NSS.
Asked whether Khachatryan will be arrested or not, Vanetsyan said the decision will be made by the investigator.
