Chief coach of Armenia’s Greco-Roman style wrestling team announces resignation
Olympic champion, chief coach of Armenia’s Greco-Roman style wrestling team Levon Julfalakyan left the post.
He stated about stepping down at the press conference today, reasoning with the disputes in the team.
“Some athletes want the chief coach work as they dictate, they want to decide the place of competitions and the staff to participate in them, a plot is being organized,” Julfalakyan stated at the press conference.
He said the athletes are divided into two poles and the team is losing its strength.
“I cannot continue working with such team. I have been demanding both regarding myself and the rest, I have always sought to reach best results. If there are athletes who think they know how a coach should work, my role loses its significance and I cannot continue working,” he stressed.
“There are people who want to take my post and think that everything is built and in the upcoming one year they will ensure same best results. They want to use the set fundament,” Julfalakyan stated.
“I have done everything I could,” Julfalakyan stated, expressing hope that right choice will be made in the post of the chief coach.
