My Step faction supports PM in Amulsar issue: Lawmaker

My Step faction supports prime minister in Amulsar issue, faction lawmaker Gevorg Papoyan told Aysor.am.

“There are no disputes in our faction over this issue. We may have different opinions, discussions as a result of which we come to right decision. This time as well we had clashes of opinion and the faction stated about its support to the prime minister,” Papoyan said.

He stressed that the interests of all must be taken into consideration.

“My inner conviction is that the economic risks which may come forth are bigger and will have more negative consequences on the living standards of the people than the controllable environmental risks,” Papoyan said.

He said he is against closing the mines instead he is for establishing high exploitation standards.

“After our economy reaches a level that we will not need the incomes from the mines, we will think about it, but now we need this income,” he stressed.
