No grounds not to trust government: My Step lawmaker on Amulsar issue
My Step faction lawmaker Hrachya Hakobyan trusts the Armenian government in Amulsar issue, the lawmaker told Aysor.am, adding that he is not an expert in the issue and cannot express position on it.
“It remains to trust the government. I have no grounds not to do it and if the government guarantees to stop mine’s operation in case of risks nothing is just left but to believe it,” Hakobyan told Aysor.am, asked about his position.
As to existing complaints over the exploitation of the mine, the lawmaker said there are really caring environmentalists but there are also the ones guided by different forces.
“What were they doing when the permission was given to Lydian, when construction launched on that mount,” Hakobyan stressed.
Asked whether there is a joint position in the faction over the issue as some lawmakers avoid speaking about the issue, Hakobyan said after affirmations from the head of the government the opinion of the few lawmakers has possibly changed.
“A while ago I could not orient myself, now I understand that I have no grounds not to trust our government,” he said.
