At the current moment the state does not have legal grounds to impede the activity of the company, My Step faction lawmaker Taguhi Ghazaryan told Aysor.am, referring to the statement of the prime minister about Amulsar mine exploitation.
“There was a consensus in the faction from the very beginning that the issue must be solved in a legal way. There were some restrictions regarding the interpretation of the conclusion. The issue was thoroughly discussed in the faction several times and the statement made by the PM was the result of the discussions. The faction shares his opinion,” Ghazaryan said, adding that it is clear for all that the state has no legal grounds to impede the activity of the company.
As to the necessity of new environment impact assessment, the lawmaker said ELARD conclusion was ordered in the sidelines of the criminal case and the organization is not the body to make decision over the necessity of new EIA.
The lawmaker said the decision is to be made by environment ministry based on the studies of inspection body.
“For it Lydian must allow the inspection body on its territory, but for doing it, Lydian too must have access to its territory. But currently the roads are blockaded, that is why the prime minister asked the citizens to open the roads for Lydian to allow inspection body come to its territory and understand whether there is a necessity for new EIA or not,” Ghazaryan said.
