CC’s ruling in Kocharyan’s case illegal: Nikol Pashinyan
Constitutional Court’s ruling on the basis of Armenia’s ex-president Robert Kocharyan’s application is illegal, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the news conference on Monday.
“After the special opinion of the two members of the CC it was obvious that the decision is illegal. Why the CC has made such ruling is clear,” Pashinyan stated.
He stressed that two of the judges have direct connection with March 1 case.
Earlier today National Assembly speaker Ararat Mirzoyan referred to the ruling, saying that the CC made it without necessary examination and in hastiness.
“While making this ruling the Constitutional Court failed to properly discuss the subject and without any grounded explanation declined the application of a CC judge about the impossibility of participation of three members of the CC in the examination of the case with it putting under doubt the objectiveness of the court,” Mirzoyan stated.
The chairman of the parliament also said that the CC has displayed an ungrounded hastiness in making the ruling, registering, in essence, that the ruling could have been quite another if not this hastiness.
