Ball is in authorities’ field: PAP lawmakers expect explanations over situation with Artur Vanetsyan

Prosperous Armenia faction lawmaker Arman Abovyan said it is difficult to give any political assessment to the developments taking place inside the authorities.

The MP said for doing it the made statements must be explained.

“It is clear that sub-contexts must be searched in the statements of the two parties but unless it is made clear, it will be difficult to give any assessment,” he said, speaking about the resignation of director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan.

Another lawmaker of the faction Iveta Tonoyan said that making judgments based on hints is not the best way.

“Another circumstance surprises me. Till yesterday the NSS director, considered one of the most influential figures, has become a target for the hottest criticism. I think Mr Vanetsyan will have an occasion to open up what he meant in his resignation statement. I also think the ball is in the field of the authorities who should open up over these developments,” she said, adding that their faction has quite positive attitude toward Vanetsyan’s activity.
