Kocharyan’s lawyer says government officials visited judge on the eve of publication of the decision on preventive measure
Ex-president Robert Kocharyan’s lawyer Aram Orbelyan stated today about pressures executed before the judges are making decisions over preventive measure of former president.
Orbelyan claimed that the judge was visited by some people before the decision was made.
The lawyer though did not unveil any details.
“Every time when the preventive measure of Mr Kocharyan is being discussed the pressures are becoming more intensive. As soon as the issue closes, the pressures are becoming more passive,” the lawyer said.
“The recent intensive actions took place on the eve of making the decision by you. I do not want to refer to the visits of some people. But we have information that some government officials visited you,” Orbelyan said, addressing the judge.
Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan objected the lawyer’s statement.
“I accept the objection and withdraw that part of the statement,” Orbelyan said.
“In that case think before making statements,” Baghdasaryan stated.
Judge Anna Danibekyan withdrew the prosecutor’s objection and allowed Orbelyan to continue the speech.
Orbelyan said he joins the team’s petition on changing the arrest on release for bail.
