NSS ex-chief has all chances to become alternative to present authorities: political analyst
Political analyst Armen Badalyan analyzed the activity of the incumbent government during the past one year, coming to the conclusion that the present authorities are looking not forward but backward, to the past.
“There is no foreign policy, no concept of economic development, concept of reforms. There is an absence of development vector. No processes have taken place during a year and a half. If you are not looking forward willingly-unwillingly you are looking back what we do it during the past one and half year,” the political analyst said.
Speaking about the resignation of NSS chief Artur Vanetsyan and his resignation statement, Badalyan said it had “rather strict tone”.
“This statement was an assessment to the prime minister. It had rather strict tone and was like slamming the door after leaving,” Badalyan said, adding that it was not accidental that after the session of the Civil Contract party the ruling party was trying to convince that he was sacked by the prime minister and has not resigned on his own.
Badalyan said with his statement Vanetsyan closed a past timeframe and opened new one.
“This statement can clearly be the possible entrance of the ex-chief of the NSS to politics. Perhaps he will enter the politics and perhaps he will not, but if Vanetsyan succeeds to enter the political field he will become a developing alternative to the present authorities,” Badalyan said, adding that ex-president Robert Kocharyan may also become an alternative but the alternative not taking to development will not be followed by many.
“The second president will not be viewed as future authority, many are against him, unlike Vanetsyan, whose rating is quite high now,” Badalyan said.
