Robert Kocharyan did not allow Artsakh become part of Azerbaijan by the stage by stage option proposed by Nikol’s political father: Levon Kocharyan
Son of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan – Levon Kocharyan – responded to the statements voiced by Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the press conference in Los Angeles in the address of their family.
“I regret to say, that the person who appeared in the chair of Armenia’s Prime Minister is not able to do anything else but deliver empty speeches at rallies and voice ungrounded accusations in our address. He still did not realize in what status he appeared,” Kocharyan wrote on Facebook.
Kocharyan stressed that Pashinyan's empty rhetoric and demagogy is obvious to the whole world from Los Angeles to Yerevan, from Stepanakert to Sochi.
Taking the cheap emotions out and making trivial statements for diverting the attention of the people from real problems of the country still remain Nikol’s style, Kocharyan wrote.
“From the United States he threatened to restore the status-quo existing till 1998. Though he said it again making empty statements in the address of our family and again playing the same “song” but in reality his words have completely other meaning,” Levon Kocharyan wrote, adding that the restoration of the status-quo means the destruction of country’s economy, return to the rejected stage by stage option of Karabakh conflict settlement.
“After 1998, during the ten years of presidency of my father, the state budget grew 8 times, economy registered double digit growth. By the way Nikol made use of it as his paper business prospered during those years and he acquired expensive real and movable property. Kocharyan did not allow Artsakh become part of Azerbaijan as offered by Nikol’s known political father [Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan] in his notorious stage by stage option of settlement,” Kocharyan wrote, adding that if now Pashinyan wants restoration of status-quo, they will not allow it.
