Armenia’s PM voices necessity of diversification of Eurasian transport infrastructures
Transit Potential of Eurasian Continent international conference is a good platform for reinforcement of trade-economic ties and establishment of architecture of logistic schemes in the Eurasian territory, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the conference today.
“I hope on the basis of results of the discussions we will manage to better evaluate our opportunities and clarify the mechanisms to overcome the barriers impeding the complete reinforcement of transit corridors and schemes, outline the prior issues and find the most effective solutions,” the head of the Armenian government said.
Pashinyan stressed that during its chairmanship in the EAEU Armenia has put all the possible efforts for ensuring further positive dynamics of integration as well as solving issues to ensure additional impetus for economic growth in the EAEU member states.
“In this pre-context one of the key sectors is the development and diversification of Eurasian transport infrastructures which will ensure growth of the trade turnover inside the EAEU as well as export of products to foreign markets,” he said.
Armenia’s PM stressed that the signing of free trade agreements with Iran, Vietnam, China, Singapore, Serbia, Egypt, India and other countries will not only foster the economic potential of the Union ensuring its full integration into world’s economy but will expand the geography of transport corridors and the transit potential of the continent.
“The Republic of Armenia, stemming from its geographical peculiarities is ready to exert all the efforts to ensure the availability of new markets, provide necessary infrastructures and logistics in the pre-context of unavoidable growth in cargo and passenger transportations. Besides using the transit potential in the transport sector Armenia may also become regional power hub which will unite the general power market of the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran,” Pashinyan said.
