Armenia’s PM voices importance of passing to national currency calculations in EAEU territory
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan welcomed today the leaders of countries at the extended meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
He stressed that the organization which marks this year its 5th anniversary is getting stronger from year to year and has proved its viability and attractiveness as an international integration unit.
“We have put all our efforts to effectively implement the important function of the presiding country. Today’s session hosts the leaders of Moldova, Iran and Singapore which has become the top of our presidency in the organization,” the head of the government said, welcoming the leaders of Moldova, Iran and Singapore.
Referring to the issues, which according to the Prime Minister demand solution for further promotion of the cooperation, the head of the Armenian government outlined the measures necessary for lifting the existing barriers of free transportation of the working force in the EAEU territory.
Pashinyan stressed that the integration processes will be more dynamic if the citizens get convinced that decisions are being made over sensitive issues and result in improvement of living and working conditions.
“We also attach significance to the intensification of joint efforts aimed at creating favorable conditions for national currency calculations among the EAEU member states. Despite the positive dynamics there are sectors, like the gas market, where the EAEU countries’ products are traditionally offered by the currency of non-member states,” Pashinyan said, adding that today’s agenda includes the issue of concept on creating joint financial market.
“This is a serious step in formation of common financial territory and a prerequisite for creation of favorable conditions for passing to national currency calculations,” Pashinyan said.
