Relations between Armenia and Iran should develop beyond geo-political influences: Nikol Pashinyan
Relations between Armenia and Iran were and remain good ones and must develop beyond geo-political influences, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the meeting with Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani in Armenia, adding that Armenia and Iran are immediate neighbors and have many common interests.
Government’s press service reports that during the meeting Armenia’s PM noted that Armenia highly rates the balanced position of Iran in Karabakh issue. In his turn, Iranian leader stressed the importance of peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Rouhani also stated that official Tehran attaches significance to the development and expansion of relations with Armenia.
“We are ready to keep on working with your government, develop programs and carry them out, enhance programs on gas against electricity. At the same time we are ready to bring into life solar, wind power programs in Armenia. We are interested in the implementation of regional power projects and development of power and transport infrastructures,” Rouhani stated.
