Armenian Armed Forces give proportionate response to adversary: Artak Davtyan

The situation on the border in general is stable, head of the Chief Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan said at the meeting with reporters today.

“The situation is under control, the tension and incidents on the border have always been registered and I think will continue in future as well,” he said.

At the same time Davtyan noted that the cases of shootings and major incidents have reduced.

As to the tension registered in Tavush, Davtyan said that the situation there has not changed essentially.

“There are some elements of tension, but let us consider it border regime tension which has always existed,” he said.

The head of the Chief Staff said today as well shooting has been registered but it was not targeted.

“After our response they stopped, now the situation is calm,” he said.

Davtyan stressed that the Armenian Armed Forces gave equivalent response to the adversary.
