Intolerance and hostility may lead to the worst place: Naira Zohrabyan
Freedom of speech is highest value and a question rises whether the attempt to take a representative of civil society and throw him in a trash bin is condemnable or not, chairperson of the Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs Standing Committee Naira Zohrabyan said at the committee’s session today.
“Is the case with Hayeli condemnable or not? If an article published by mass media is not pleasant for someone, there is no need to take the eggs, go and throw them, otherwise there will be a deficit of eggs in Armenia. The intolerance and hostility may lead to the worst place,” she said.
Member of the committee Taguhi Ghazaryan from My Step faction said that she and her colleague Maria Karapetyan issued statement on March 4 the day of the attack on Narek Malyan, afterwards they raised the issue at the NA session hall.
“Such cases must get clear assessment. I urge the citizens to refrain from violence and calls of violence,” she said, adding that if the people want to support their political team they must strive for peace and reconciliation.
