Armenia should work on establishing contacts and organizing visits of U.S. Republican party representatives as well: political analyst
The relations between the democratic parties of the USA and Armenia are developing recently but it is not enough for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries especially if to take into consideration that the incumbent U.S. authorities are Republicans, political analyst Suren Sargsyan told Aysor.am, referring to the recent visit of members of the US Congress Jackie Speier Judy Chu and Frank Palone to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
“The majority of the U.S. Senate comprises of republicans. Of course, the visit of our U.S. friends to Armenia and then Artsakh is welcoming but we must work on organizing visits of republican members of Congress as well,” he said, adding that few of them visited Armenia few months ago but the organizer of the visit was not Armenia.
Sargsyan also said Armenia’s representatives during their visits to the United States mainly met and contacted with democrats, with one-two exclusions.
“I think it is necessary to work with republicans as well if to take into consideration the logic of contacts of Trump. We must not forget that some democrats are U.S. president’s enemies,” Sargsyan said, adding that it is necessary to make conclusions and display some cautiousness.
