Armenia is for objective coverage of historic events and is against attempts of their biased interpretation: Pashinyan
Armenia welcomes the Strategic Economic Cooperation declaration and supports all the initiatives aimed at boosting economic cooperation between the CIS countries and enhancement of integration processes, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the session of the council of heads of CIS states.
He said that document sets strategic goals of cooperation for the implementation of which consistent and coordinated work is necessary both in multisided and bilateral formats.
Among the issues on the agenda, Pashinyan singled out the joint message adopted on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the victory in great patriotic war, stressing the significance of awareness of younger generations about the role our peoples had in fighting against fascism.
“According to different assessments about 300,000 Armenian men and women died in this war. Our compatriots not only fought in the rows of the soviet army but actively participated in the confrontation movement,” Pashinyan said, stressing that one of the leaders of the French confrontation movement was Armenian Misak Manushyan.
Pashinyan also said that Armenia supports objective coverage of the historic events during the period of the Great Patriotic War and is against attempts of their biased interpretation.
The prime minister also noted that the Armenian government pays special attention to the issues of war veterans.
