Developments over Hrayr Tovmasyan is a political mayhem: ARF-D Supreme Body representative

The developments over the chairman of the Constitutional Court are clear political persecution, ARF-D Supreme Body representative Ishkhan Saghatelyan told Aysor.am.

“The authorities have put an issue to invade the Constitutional Court and failing to do it in a legal way have passed to the family members, relatives, are trying to reach their goal with interrogations and other different methods,” he said.

Ishkhan Saghatelyan said that such actions of the authorities must be condemned.

“It is clear that the authorities will not admit doing illegal actions and will try to find groundings to justify the actions but the political persecution is clear, it is a fact,” he said.

The ARF-D representative said that if a court in Armenia makes a decision which the authorities do not like the next step is done against them by the authorities.

“They qualify such people as counter-revolutionaries. The authorities want to have own judicial system to serve it in future against their political opponents,” Saghatelyan stressed.

Asked what solution he sees, the ARF-D representative said the authorities must become sober.

“They must become serious and start implementing main commitments and refrain from fostering their power by these methods. In this way they will not stay long, they have chosen a wrong way and are taking the country to a chaos. This is a political mayhem,” Saghatelyan stressed.
