SIS fails to present testimony of former head of CC staff which clearly justifies Arsen Babayan: attorney
The Yerevan court will examine today two petitions – the one of the attorneys of former head of NA’s staff Arsen Babayan to release their defendant and the one of the investigators to choose arrest as Babayan’s preventive measure, attorney Yervand Varosyan told the reporters before the launch of the court examination set for 5.45 p.m.
To the observation that the former head of the CC staff claimed and stated in his testimonies that he sent the application on March 2, Varosyan said they are convinced that the former CC official was interrogated in the sidelines of the criminal case.
“We are convinced that the former head of the CC staff was interrogated in the sidelines of the criminal case, he also stated about it in his interview but strangely enough we have not been either provided the protocol of the interrogation or it has been submitted to the court,” Varosyan said, adding that he knows the reason of not doing it.
“It is an obvious justifying evidence. Moreover, I have followed closely the interview of former chairman of the parliament Mr Babloyan and the one of former CC president Gagik Harutyunyan. The positions of these three persons are enough to claim that the forwarded accusation has nothing to do with reality,” the attorney said.
