Political technologist describes Arsen Babayan’s case as political, aimed at subordinating CC to personal power
The legal part in the criminal case against former deputy head of NA staff Arsen Babayan is just a veil, political technologist Armen Badalyan told Aysor.am, describing it more as political process - the continuation of the one initiated against chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan.
“The purpose is one – to reach resignation of CC chairman Hrayr Tovmasyan at any cost with indirect methods. Seeing the impossibility of doing it in a legal way, an attempt is being made to use the feelings, like visiting Tovmasyan’s father’s house, interrogating his daughters. This actions are called clinging to foam,” Badalyan said.
He said the recent legal processes make it clear that keeping some people in custody has become a principle issue for the incumbent authorities and one person in particular.
“There was time the authorities were stating that if not republicans the investors would have queued. But we see that there is no one, and now they made up the existence of crisis in the CC. This is aimed just at subordinating the CC to personal power. They have not succeeded in it yet and are trying to reach their purpose with simple steps,” the political analyst said.
