Hrayr Tovmasyan wants the issue to become political one: My Step lawmaker

My Step faction lawmaker Hovhannes Igityan does not agree that former deputy head of NA’s staff Arsen Babayan is being politically persecuted.

“A person is summoned, interrogated over the date of submission of the document, its registration. The person is summoned. The law enforcers did not go to his place, break the door and bring,” he said, adding that there are circumstances in the sidelines of the criminal case which need to be clarified.

“If it is considered political persecution, it means in the civilized world all are being persecuted as all are asked questions and expected to give clear answers,” Igityan stressed.

As to whether these actions are addressed against chairman of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan, Igityan said, “Let’s not speak about Hrayr Tovmasyan as Hrayr Tovmasyan himself wants this issue to become political one. He keeps on making political statements.”
