Nairi Hunanyan must stay in jail till the end of his life: Stepan Demirtchyan
October 27 is the hardest case, head of the Armenia’s People’s Party Stepan Demirtchyan, son of Armenia's parliament speaker killed on this day in 1999, told the reporters today.
To the comment that Nairi Hunanyan has applied for parole and whether it means that he wants to reveal new circumstances about October 27, Demirtchyan said, “No matter whether he speaks or not, he must stay in jail till the end of his life.”
Today marks 20 years since the parliament shooting in Armenia’s parliament in 1999.
A group of five armed men led by Nairi Hunanyan killed the country's political leadership—Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan and Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan and 6 other state figures and lawmakers. Eight people were wounded.
