Time comes for Gagik Jhangiryan to tell what happened on October 27: Sasun Mikayelyan
Chairman of the Yerkrapah Volunteers Union, My Step faction lawmaker Sasun Mikayelyan says he does not see any reason to parole Nairi Hunanyan.
“The criminal of the century is freed and appears among people for what?” Mikayelyan said in Yerablur Military Pantheon.
He stressed that October 27 must be revealed.
“There are many people who must contribute to revealing this assassination. For instance, I apply to my friend Mr Jhangiryan. He said that time that he must make a statement, then after a writ from Robert Kocharyan he did not do the statement relating to October 27. Will he keep silence after 20 years? The time has come for Jhangiryan to say what happened. He was the one to examine Nairi Hunanayan’s case and he knows more than anyone else,” Mikayelyans said.
Today marks 20 years since the parliament shooting in Armenia’s parliament in 1999.
A group of five armed men led by Nairi Hunanyan killed the country's political leadership—Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan and Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan and 6 other state figures and lawmakers. Eight people were wounded.
