New metro station to be built in Ajapnyak administrative region: deputy mayor
The new metro station is expected to be built in Ajapnyak administrative region, deputy mayor of Yerevan Hayk Sargsyan told the reporters today.
“Negotiations are held over construction of big trade center in Ajapnyak. They reached the phase of projecting metro station and the bridge. There is an initial consent that the investor will finance the program from the projecting phase,” he said, adding that in future the issue of construction of the metro station will be discussed as side-effect of the business model.
The deputy mayor voiced hope that the works will be possible to launch from next spring. As to where exactly the station will be, the deputy mayor said at currently discussed project the metro station is expected to be on the bridge equipped with modern constructions.
“An issue has been put to have such a logic in construction of the station to be able to have another one in future,” Sargsyan said, adding that he cannot say exact dates.
At the same time the deputy mayor said certain works have already been carried out which will allow to reduce expenses.
“According to the set criteria, 1 kilometer of a metro station costs 100 million USD but as far as we already have a tunnel and may spent half of this price,” Sargsyan said.
