Lawyer: How does SIS chief imagine underage children visit their father in Vardashen penitentiary alone?

Lawyer of the former deputy head of NA’s staff Yervand Varosyan has published the decision provided by the Special Investigation Service which bans the meetings of Arsen Babayan with the relatives, mass media representatives and other people.

Speaking to reporters today the SIS chief said he has no information that Babayan’s underage children were not allowed to see their father.

“If such misunderstanding has occurred it will be corrected,” Sasun Khachatryan said.

Asked to comment, Babayan’s lawyer Yervand Varosyan confirmed to Aysor.am that the children were not allowed to see Babayan.

“I really want to understand does the SIS chief think that underage children must come to visit their father to Vardashen penitentiary alone? You need to have a little bit logic at least. But I am really not surprised at anything here now,” Varosyan said, adding that the decision will be appealed.

“This is a tough violation of right. A decision must be grounded and reasoned, this is not a decision,” the lawyer said.

Babayan is accused of assisting in usurpation of power and official fraud.
On October 22 the SIS made a decision to arrest Babayan with the court having uphold it.
