We will maintain our victory at any cost: Grigory Sahakyan

Aysor.am has spoken with the reserve colonel, hero of 1st military cross Grigory Sahakyan.

- Mr Sahakyan, you have stated about your intention to participate in the upcoming elections in Artsakh. Will you nominate your candidacy?

- Currently we are in party building phase, we are actively working with all circles of the society. In two weeks the congress of the newly created “Trust” party will take place where we will answer to all the questions regarding our political activity. It is early to speak about presidential elections, I do not yet know whether I will be nominated or will support any candidate.

As to the possible support of already nominated candidates, we will not back any of them. At least it is my opinion, the rest will be decided at the party discussion.

- Mr Sahakyan you have served in the Armed Forces for many years, what does the colonel having served for so many years and has small political experience want to change?

- My first political experience in the political field is the participation in mayoral elections of Stepanakert. We did not have much time to work but we managed to get a big number of votes. Anyway, today Stepanakert has its mayor who works actively from the very first day.

I had high posts in the Armed Forces for many years which in its turn is a huge governance experience.

Being in the Armed Forces I have always directly or indirectly related to different issues of the country and I am sure that our new political force will not only manage to present the approaches and interests of our citizens in the parliament but also to assume the responsibility of governance of our country.

- What is necessary to preserve the victories?

- The first thing is the existence of the viral system which must fed the whole country. The economic development and social policy is important but if trust is not being formed inside different layers of the society the issue becomes essentially difficult.

To maintain the victory and foster it, I attach significance to ensuring balanced political, social development ties between Armenia and Artsakh.

Our people have that potential and we are obliged to keep and develop our homeland – Armenia and Artsakh, it is the sacred duty of all of us, and we will maintain our victory at any cost.
