Acceptable decision over Karabakh conflict settlement may be made via referendum: Armenia’s PM
The clearly defined and acceptable decision in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict issue is possible through referendum, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
“My issue is to search and find at the table of negotiations a solution acceptable for the people of Armenia. After formulation of solution acceptable first of all for the people of Armenia, I will present it. Pan-national discussion and pan-national decision will follow it. If necessary the decision will made via referendum," Pashinyan said in live video on Facebook.
He stressed that plots in the Karabakh conflict settlement issue are excluded.
Pashinyan also noted that in the existing situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations always contains dangers.
“But they are not more than they were 3, 4 or 5 years ago. During the past one and a half year we have registered sharp reduction of tension but it does not mean that the tension does not exist anymore. Unfortunately, we are having victims now too,” Pashinyan said, adding that Armenia and Artsakh’s approaches in the Karabakh conflict settlement are similar.
