Armenia has special attitude toward Greece: Armenia’s PM meets with Greek president
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted in the government today President of Greece Prokopios Pavlopoulos who has arrived in Armenian on an official visit.
“The inter-state relations between our countries are on a very high level, and I hope that we will manage to establish effective economic cooperation on this favorable background,” Pashinyan noted.
Nikol Pashinyan said in January first trilateral Armenia-Greece-Cyprus summit is scheduled in Yerevan.
“It will make our relations more favorable,” the PM stressed, adding that in Armenia there is special attitude toward Greece.
“Our people remember with gratitude the fact that still in 1996 Greece officially recognized the Armenian genocide. I also want to stress that in 2015 Armenian parliament recognized the genocide of Greek, Assyrians. I think this fact creates basis for searching for directions of cooperation in the global security issues,” Pashinyan added.
President of Greece, in his turn, said that he is happy to be in Armenia and that the latter is participating in the forum of ancient civilizations, which he said is very important.
Prokopios Pavlopoulos also added that Greece hailed the adoption of the resolution recognizing Armenian Genocide by the U.S. House of Representatives.
