“I value the U.S. Embassy’s longstanding relationship with Armenia’s political parties, including the RPA. The United States remains committed to supporting Armenia’s democratic, economic and social governance, as we have been throughout the 27 years of our diplomatic relationship,” Ambassador Tracy said.
During the meeting the ambassador asked to brief about the upcoming programs of the Republican party and expressed conviction that such meetings will be initiated periodically.
With the request of Ambassador Tracy Serzh Sargsyan also briefed on the domestic political situation in Armenia, the existing concerns, the party’s positions over them, referred to the issues and challenges in the economic and security sectors, current stage of the peace talks over Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement as well as prospects of development of Armenian-U.S. relations.
Serzh Sargsyan also expressed gratitude for the adoption of the Resolution recognizing the Armenian genocide by the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Armenia’s real democratization has no alternative. We have worked in this direction for many years building mutually beneficial partnership relations, including with the USA.
