Russia provides Armenia weapons not existing before: Kalashnikov (Video)
The CSTO PA Council’s session did not refer to the issue of provision of weaponry to Azerbaijan by Russia, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov told the reporters after the closed session today.
“The issue was not discussed at the PA Council’s session as it is not under the competence of the CSTO PA. There are heads of countries who possibly discuss the issue but I cannot say anything about it. But it is the issue which has been referred to many times,” he said.
Kalashnikov also noted that the CSTO is providing weapon not only to Azerbaijan but also to all its partners, stressing that Armenia is being provided such weapon which other countries are not.
“We have provided Armenia such types of weapon which we did not have before. So, I think it is a “sin” to be offended from Russia for provision of weapons. Armenia is being sold such weapon which is not being sold to other countries,” he said.
To the comment that Armenia’s PM expressed concern over the selling of weapon to Azerbaijan by Russia, Kalashnikov said, “Of course he does, in the same way Azerbaijan is concerned that we are selling newest technology to Armenia.”
